Stephen J. Datena, M.D.
President and CEO Dr. Datena, the founder of Lifecom, is a trauma surgeon and medical educator. Dr. Datena conceived the original processes and methodologies that were developed into the core decision analysis and knowledge management technologies of Lifecom and Co-invented the Adaptive Knowledge Engine (AKE). A graduate of Indiana University School of Medicine in 1984 followed by surgical residency at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis (1989), Dr. Datena is an Assistant Professor of Surgery and Critical Care at Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Oregon.
H David Silverman, CFO
Mr. Silverman was formerly VP, Finance at ProSight (start-up), where he raised over $40 million in venture financing and led the sale of ProSight to Primavera Systems Inc. At the PRT Group Inc. (start-up), he was the VP, Operations and was responsible for managing the company’s software engineering center in Chennai, India as well as the Software Process Improvement Group. Mr. Silverman holds a Bachelor of Science from the United States Military Academy at West Point and a Masters in Financial Analysis from Portland State University.
Corey Lederer, Co-Founder and Director
Mr. Lederer is a co-founder of Lifecom. Mr. Lederer co-invented the Context Parsing Engine which analyzes medical text for use in the Lifecom Knowledge Engine. Mr. Lederer has over 19 years of comprehensive software development and management experience. Mr. Lederer was most recently a managing principal consultant, managing projects for Fortune 500 companies. He has also been a strategic consultant, assisting companies in their long term software and technology planning. Mr. Lederer was a principal software architect for Andersen Consulting (now Accenture), where he designed, built and personally implemented custom online transaction processing engines. He also spent many years as a developer/manager in the custom packaged software market, developing transaction sensitive applications for the retail industry. Mr. Lederer has a proven track record of delivering major projects on time and within budget.
Bob Beck, Director Technology Development
Mr. Beck was a co-founder of Sequent Computer Systems, in 1983, where he was the primary designer and implementer of all aspects of Sequent’s symmetric multiprocessing operating system (Dynix: initially a version of 4.2bsd UNIX), including mutual exclusion primitives, virtual memory, file system, process model, and device driver interfaces. In his later years at Sequent, Mr. Beck became involved with object-oriented technologies, including work in Smalltalk and Object Oriented database systems. Mr. Beck holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mathematics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a Master’s degree in Computer Science the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
Larry Gray, Director Product Development
Prior to Lifecom, Mr Gray held positions including the Director of QA and Engineering Management at Ascend Communications, VP Engineering at Protocol Systems, Director of Engineering at Cohesive Networks and Manager Data Communications at Tandem Computers. Mr. Gray holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Mathematics from California State Polytechnic University and a Masters Degree in Mathematics from University of California, Berkeley.
Bart Lonchar, Director Knowledge Development Tools
Mr. Lonchar is a co-founder of Lifecom. Mr Lonchar co-invented a novel Knowledge Engine and built a medical diagnostic system that utilizes it. Bart is an experienced, hands-on technical leader and software engineer with in-depth experience in designing and building systems that transform data into information, and information into knowledge. Most recently, Mr. Lonchar has been engaged in a contract as a senior software developer for the Bonneville Power Administration where he designed and developed a web-based metering information system used within the agency and by its customers. Mr. Lonchar holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Information Systems from Idaho State University.
